Working With Couples & Families
Feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed in your relationships can be exhausting—especially when the same patterns keep showing up.
Heather works with couples, families, teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges.
She is especially passionate about helping couples and families who feel emotionally disconnected or caught in difficult cycles find their way back to understanding, connection, and stability.
She also walks alongside individuals and families facing chronic or terminal illness, as well as those navigating grief and loss, offering steady, compassionate support during difficult seasons.
A Supportive and Collaborative Approach
Heather’s style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. She creates a space where clients feel safe to be themselves while also gently supporting growth and change.
She affirms LGBTQIA+ identities, welcomes alternative and non-biological family structures, and honors the many ways families are defined.
Her work is informed by:
Attachment Theory
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Narrative Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Together, these approaches help clients better understand their patterns, strengthen relationships, and move toward greater connection and resilience.
Affordable, Supervised Care
Heather is a graduate intern therapist completing her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University.
She provides therapy under the supervision of Amy Reamer, LMFT, and Missy McKissick, LPC, with regular consultation and support.
Many clients choose to work with Heather as a more affordable option while still receiving high-quality care. Her work is supported by a licensed clinical team, meaning you benefit from both her care and additional professional oversight.
