“Are you ready to break free from frustrating patterns and embrace the possibility of healing and connection?”
Missy partners with clients who feel stuck in frustrating emotional patterns and are seeking meaningful change, healing, and connection. She works with children and adults, supporting nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and greater self-understanding. Missy offers in-person therapy at our Lakeside office, with telehealth available for adults when appropriate.
In her clinical work, Missy has a particular focus on supporting women, including concerns related to postpartum adjustment, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship challenges, and stress management. With children, she primarily uses play-based and experiential approaches, creating a safe and supportive space for expression, regulation, and growth.
Missy is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parts Work, and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), and integrates mindfulness, movement, play, and expressive therapies into her work. Her approach is strongly informed by Polyvagal Theory, and she enjoys helping clients understand how their brains and nervous systems shape emotional and relational experiences. She also has training in Christian counseling and can integrate faith into therapy when desired.
In addition to her clinical work, Missy serves as the Residency Program Coordinator at Heart & Mind Therapy. In this role, she supports the clinical growth and development of interns, residents, and supervisees as they work toward independent licensure. She provides supervision, consultation, and training with a focus on ethical practice, nervous system–informed care, and creating supportive learning environments for developing clinicians. Missy also provides training and supervision to clinicians integrating the Safe and Sound Protocol into their work.
