McKayla Loughrey

Supervisee in Social Work

Helping individuals explore patterns, build confidence, and move toward meaningful, self-directed change.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to handle everything going on—and wish you had someone who really gets it?

McKayla brings a warm, authentic, and collaborative approach to therapy. She earned her Master of Social Work from UMass Global in 2023 and works from a person-centered, strengths-based perspective, integrating cognitive behavioral and somatic approaches to support meaningful growth and healing.

McKayla enjoys working with a wide range of clients across the lifespan, including children, teens, young adults, and adults, as well as parents, families, and couples. She has a particular passion for supporting individuals navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, burnout, and life transitions. She also has experience working with concerns related to identity, trauma, grief, relationships, and self-worth.

At the heart of McKayla’s work is a belief that clients are not “problems to be fixed,” but individuals capable of growth, insight, and change. She sees her role as walking alongside clients—helping them understand patterns, explore options, and build confidence in their own decision-making. She values authenticity in the therapy relationship and strives to create a space where clients feel safe being fully themselves.

McKayla especially enjoys working with clients who are curious, reflective, and open to exploring their experiences, even when it feels challenging. She believes that meaningful change happens when clients feel supported, empowered, and connected to their own inner strengths.

Outside of the therapy room, McKayla enjoys baking, gardening, playing video games, and listening to music (especially Taylor Swift), bringing a grounded and relatable energy to her work with clients.

McKayla Loughrey is a Supervisee in Social Work, practicing under the supervision of Meagan Valenti, LCSW. Her work is supported through ongoing supervision and consultation to ensure ethical, thoughtful, and high-quality care.
