Hannah Mason
Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Clinical Supervisor
Therapy for adults feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck—supporting you in understanding your experiences and building stronger, more connected relationships.
“Healing happens in the context of safe, trusting relationships.”
Hannah believes that healing happens in the context of safe, trusting relationships, and that therapy can be a powerful space to process past trauma, navigate life transitions, and reconnect with a sense of stability and self-understanding. She works with adults, including parents and young adults, offering thoughtful, relational support for clients who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. Hannah provides in-person therapy at our Powhatan office and also offers telehealth sessions when appropriate.
Hannah’s approach is strength-based, culturally sensitive, and LGBTQ+ affirming, with a strong emphasis on creating a space where clients feel safe showing up as their authentic selves. She brings warmth, curiosity, and respect to each session and views therapy as a collaborative process—honoring clients as the experts on their own lives while offering insight, tools, and a steady therapeutic presence.
She specializes in supporting clients navigating trauma and PTSD, adoption-related experiences, depression, anxiety, identity development, and adjustment to life transitions. Hannah has a particular passion for working with members of the adoption constellation and with individuals in parenting roles, helping clients explore how past experiences shape present relationships and patterns.
Hannah integrates person-centered and humanistic approaches with evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), all through an attachment-focused and trauma-informed lens. Her work emphasizes nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and long-term healing.
In addition to her clinical work, Hannah serves as a Clinical Supervisor at Heart & Mind Therapy, supporting developing clinicians through supervision and consultation with a focus on ethical practice, relational depth, and trauma-informed care.
