I believe that as humans we all need a listening ear, a new perspective or technique to handle the many challenges of modern life. I believe that you have the ability to heal from your past and develop new coping strategies for the future. I use brain-based treatment for issues like depression and anxiety and believe it is essential to healing. I work from a strengths perspective and solutions focused approach and incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, mindfulness and art into many of my sessions. I have worked in the area of adoptions, school social work, Christian counseling, child welfare, trauma and hospital social work. I have worked extensively with the U.S. military and others in the areas of depression, anxiety and conflict resolution as well as developmental trauma. I have helped with parenting issues related to autism, ADHD and other behavioral challenges.
