Quote:

“Are you ready to offer your child a space where they can feel seen, heard, and valued while developing skills to heal from trauma and overcome obstacles?”

Children are often told to be seen and not heard—Kelly’s work encourages the opposite. Kelly creates a therapeutic space where children, teens, and young adults are supported in expressing themselves fully, safely, and authentically. She offers in-person therapy at our Powhatan office, with a primary focus on working with children through developmentally appropriate, play-based approaches.

Kelly’s work is strengths-based and person-centered, meeting each client where they are while supporting growth toward meaningful goals. With younger clients, she utilizes play therapy, including sand tray therapy and other expressive modalities, to help children process trauma and challenging experiences in ways that feel natural and accessible.

With teens and young adults, Kelly often integrates dialectical, skills-based techniques to support emotional regulation, insight, and movement through difficult experiences. She brings extensive experience in crisis care, trauma, and self-harm support, and tailors her approach to each client’s developmental stage and individual needs.

Kelly also incorporates expressive therapies such as music, narrative, and art-based approaches when aligned with a client’s interests, supporting engagement, creativity, and connection. She values collaboration with families and works to ensure therapy supports both the child and their broader support system.

Kelly is a Supervisee in Social Work, practicing under the supervision of Meagan Valenti, LCSW, and Hannah Mason, LCSW. Her work is supported through ongoing supervision and consultation to ensure ethical, thoughtful, and high-quality care.
