Children are often told to be seen and not heard. My therapy encourages the opposite, a space where children, teens, and young adults can express themselves fully.
My approach is strengths based and focuses on meeting patients where they are at to develop understanding and skills to meet their goals. With my younger clients I utilize play therapy like Sand Tray Therapy and other expressive formats to assist them in processing their trauma.
With my older clients I often utilize Dialectical skills based techniques to aid in creating movement and developing insight. I have an extensive background in crisis care, trauma, and self harm.
I like to intersperse expressive therapies like Music Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Art Therapy into sessions catered to my client's interests. I adopt a person based approach to tailor my techniques and results to each client and family I meet.
I enjoy the performing arts, hiking, travel, nerdy things, and spending time with friends and family.
I am excited to embark on this experience with you, your child, and family.
I am currently under the supervision of Meagan Valenti, LCSW.
